Who We Recommend for Motorhome Imports: Motorhome Import
We only prepare the valuation. If you need someone to get a motorhome, camper or RV through customs and onto UK plates, we point people to Motorhome Import, a specialist for exactly that kind of vehicle.
A motorhome is not a large car. Weight, size and licence rules decide a lot, and a business that handles motorhomes every week knows where those rules bite. This page says what Motorhome Import does, where our valuation fits next to it, and why we keep the two jobs separate.

What does Motorhome Import do?
Motorhome Import handles the import paperwork for motorhomes, campers and RVs: the customs import declaration, working out and paying VAT and duty, NOVA, and the DVLA forms, which you sign and post. It also arranges transport to the UK if you need it. On its own site it states, as a plain line, that it has imported 3,000+ vehicles since Brexit. We have not checked that figure ourselves, so treat it as theirs.
Why does a motorhome need its own specialist?
Weight is the clearest example. According to GOV.UK's driving licence categories, a standard category B licence from 1 January 1997 covers vehicles up to 3,500kg maximum authorised mass, and category C1 covers 3,500kg to 7,500kg. A motorhome plated just over that line changes who can drive it, its road tax class and its speed limits. Motorhome Import's guide to motorhomes over 3,500kg goes through each rule with the GOV.UK sources.
Send the make, model, year and photos, and we will confirm a price in writing before starting.

Where does our valuation fit?
A valuation is an independent opinion of what the vehicle is worth. For a motorhome that can mean an agreed value for insurance, a figure for probate, or evidence in a divorce. It is not the customs declaration, NOVA or the DVLA paperwork, and it does not replace them. Our guide to valuing a motorhome or campervan covers what the report contains.
GOV.UK asks for the invoice or bill of sale when you tell HMRC about a vehicle you bought in the last 6 months, and for a current valuation carried out in person in the UK by a garage, dealership or other recognised business if you bought it earlier. Check which applies to your case before you order a report, and ask the importer you use.
Which of us should you contact first?
If the motorhome is abroad and not yet imported, start with Motorhome Import. If it is already in the UK and you need a documented value for insurance, probate or a dispute, start with us. Many people need one and not the other.
Frequently asked questions
Do you handle the import of a motorhome?
No. We prepare valuation reports. We do not submit customs declarations or NOVA. For the import paperwork we point people to Motorhome Import.
What does Motorhome Import handle?
Motorhomes, campers and RVs: the customs import declaration, VAT and duty, NOVA and the DVLA forms, plus transport to the UK if needed.
Does a motorhome over 3,500kg need a different licence?
GOV.UK says category C1 covers vehicles between 3,500kg and 7,500kg maximum authorised mass, and category B covers up to 3,500kg for a licence passed on or after 1 January 1997.
Is a valuation the same as an import service?
No. A valuation is an independent opinion of value. It is not the customs declaration, NOVA or DVLA paperwork.
Need a valuation alongside your import?
Send the details and photos. We confirm the cost first, and the written valuation, with the comparables set out, is usually with you the same day.
