Who We Recommend for Motorbike Imports: Motorbike Import
We only prepare the valuation. If you need someone to get a motorbike or scooter through customs and onto UK plates, we point people to Motorbike Import, a specialist that works on two-wheelers.
A bike follows its own rules: its own duty rates and its own approval route. This page says what Motorbike Import does, where our valuation fits next to it, and why the two jobs stay separate.

What does Motorbike Import do?
Motorbike Import handles the import paperwork for motorbikes and scooters: the customs import declaration, working out and paying VAT and duty, NOVA, and the DVLA forms, which you sign and post. It arranges transport to the UK through partners if you need it. It does not test or modify bikes, and it does not buy, sell or inspect them.
Why does a bike need its own specialist?
Two examples. First, duty: the UK Trade Tariff lists 8% for motorcycles up to 250cc and 6% above, which is not the 10% that applies to a car. Second, approval: GOV.UK says a vehicle not registered in the EU applies for IVA, or for MSVA if it is a 2, 3 or smaller 4-wheeled vehicle, so a bike goes the MSVA route. Motorbike Import's step by step guide puts the steps in order.
Send the make, model, year and photos, and we will confirm a price in writing before starting.

Where does our valuation fit?
A valuation is an independent opinion of what the bike is worth. That can mean an agreed value for insurance, a figure for probate, or evidence in a divorce. It is not the customs declaration, NOVA or the DVLA paperwork. Our guide to valuing a motorcycle covers what the report contains, and our guide to registering an imported motorcycle covers the DVLA and MSVA side.
Which of us should you contact first?
If the bike is abroad and not yet imported, start with Motorbike Import. If it is already in the UK and you need a documented value for insurance, probate or a dispute, start with us. Many people need one and not the other.
